For this project, I created a conceptual cover and spot illustration for an article about the importance of staying consistent with personal growth and recognising different aspects of oneself. I used the image of a ladder with challenges a metaphor for progress, illustrating the idea that growth continues on both good and bad days. Choosing to work in gouache for this class made the experience especially enjoyable, as it allowed me to strengthen my traditional painting skills while exploring new ways to think about more conceptual visuals.
