Working with After Effects for animated illustration was a daunting challenge for me, but I was determined to incorporate traditional art into the process. Using pen and ink not only proved to be a time efficient technique, but it is also one of my favourite mediums, allowing me to bring a personal, hand crafted quality to the animation while merging digital and traditional approaches.
