ANIMATED ILLUSTRATION
GARDEN WINDOW
ILLUSTRATION: Ink on Bristol paper
ANIMATION: Adobe After Effects
For my animated illustration class final, we were tasked with creating a looping animation featuring a value change, and for this, I chose to develop a parallax animation using After Effects’ 3D camera with two nodes to achieve an angled perspective looking out a window. This process was particularly enjoyable as building each individual asset- breaking down the deer into separate limbs, crafting each flower stalk, and designing window elements to move independently, this pushed me to carefully consider and plan the specific movements I wanted to convey. This project not only enhanced my compositional skills but also allowed me to further integrate both traditional and digital animation techniques, ultimately strengthening my overall approach to animated storytelling.
